Unison reject Single Status pay model
After
weeks of hearing nothing from Unison they have delivered some good
news, the national office has rejected the pay model. This means
there will be no need for a vote and the model will be automatically
rejected. This also means we will miss the council deadline forcing
them to give entitled people their increment and a hopefully a pay
award. The good news is this will completely mess up the councils
attempt to massage the figures, many people they claim to be staying
the same or gaining will now have to be moved into loser figures. We
think this is good news at it means more people will join our fight
against single status.
National Single Status e-petition
There is
now a national e-petition against single status. Please sign it, its
being submitted to central government. You can find it on the
following link.

It is going to be a
cold miserable Christmas for many Wolverhampton employees who have
just learnt of impending pay cuts. This site has been set up by
employees of Wolverhampton Council to give all staff a forum in
which to discuss the planned single status settlement which has left
a large number of staff (especially in the Civic Centre) facing
massive pay reductions.
Walking around the Civic Centre on Thursday and Friday it became
apparent that a very large proportion of Civic Centre staff had
received devastating news. Who believes the 21% is true?
We
would like to use this forum to gain a clear picture of the impact
of single status its effect on individuals and on service areas.
How many of the people the council claim have stayed the same have
lost the ability to progress up the scales?
Basically we are just trying to give people a voice, the direction
this takes is up to you all. Together we can fight this wage
slashing exercise.
This
site is not associated with Wolverhampton Council or Unison, it
will serve as an independent forum on this controversial issue.
